Class 10: Full guard - Clamp position

We are back in full guard working on attacks from the clamp position. The main point of the clamp position is to get out to an angle so that your opponent can’t force into you, then use this angle to attack your opponent.

The first drill this week is the hip up. A valuable drill if you are going to start attacking triangles.

The shoulder roll not only helps with your flexibility but also is helpful for guard retention.

Thew clamp position is only one possible sub position of full guard. It does show some good attack options we can use from full guard position.

The advanced video this week is another submission option from the clamp position. Getting the angle opens your partner up to a lot of attack options.
