Class 11: Back Mount Escape

This week we work on escapes from back mount.

It is the worst position to be stuck in as you can’t see them and your arms and legs are facing the other way.

The drill this week is shoulder walks. A useful movement to create space between you and your partner.

The most important aspect when your partner has back mount on you is to always protect your neck. This is the main attack from the back that people will go for.

Don’t forget about this while you are trying to escape.

The key to back escapes is getting your back to the mats - they can’t be on your back if it is on the mats.

The advanced moves this week are low percentage moves you can attempt when getting out of back mount.

Never forget your main aim should be escaping to a better position.
